a lightbulb in the flippin dark. Just went to grab a beer and the flipin bulb went in my room-so now I am stuck in dads room on here (oh shame!) til he can fix it for me. I know how bad-I don't know how to change one-well I do, I just get scared I'll electricute myself.

But how dumb is it of the bulb to go in the dark?! gah! How do I see to change it! I have no torch and my girly scented candles don't help! gah I'm such a girl at times! (no offence to those girls who can sort themselves out!)

eta-grr typos

Switch off the light (so as no electricity) and just get on with it. Try un screwing it, if it doesn't go, push it back and twist, then put in NEW BULB. Job done. Innit.

To be honest it isn't that hard to change a lightbulb even if it is dark.

What zee fook? You don't have to be able to see everything perfectly to change a light bulb. It's a bulb. You find out where it is - hint, it'd be near the ceiling - then remove it and replace it with a new one.

Or, if you're so lame that you can't figure it out, then you do without the light in that room until the morning.

    Sheesh.

are you saying females not being able to change a light bulb is the norm?

We use energy savers, haven't blown on us yet. And we've had them well over two years. Woo.

It scares me how people don't know how to do basic DIY these days. It's not their fault- if no-one teaches you, how do you learn?- but it is deeply troubling. And it's why Halfords, without any sense of irony, can charge you £8 to change a headlight bulb when it is a ten minute job.
