Drunken Phone

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
You may say this is in the wrong place, but how much damage would it do to a phone if it were say, to be dropped in a glass of wine for a few seconds....? would it be normal for the "0" button not to work any more and for the receiving of text messages to go haywire?

Im just wondering for purely theoretical (sp?) reasons you understand.... I wouldn't be so stupid as to actually drop my phone in half a glass of wine..... :o

I dropped mine in a sink while the tap was running once. It wasn't for long but it was enough to completely fuck the phone. It went in and out of the workshop, working for a bit and then fucking up again.

Let it dry out and hope for the best.

Once I spilled a whole glass of lemonade on my driving instructor's phone... I was afraid he'd make me pay for a new one or repair or something, and kept saying "I'm sorry".
Then he grabbed a glass of water, poured it onto his phone, shook it and wiped it with a towel. Turns out it was waterproof, but for a moment I thought he'd gone crazy or something... :crazyeyes

I dropped my 8310 in the loo ages back, dried it out and it was working! Although it does have a tendency to switch itself on and off, and say "Insert SIM" when the Sim's already in. Le sigh.

Dry your phone mate! I know it fell into your glass, but you must have hope. There's plenty more Link shops!

My advice would be to take the SIM and the battery out, put the rest of the phone in the fridge and use your old phone for the nxt day or so.

    Worth a shot.

When I threw my phone in the bath I stuck it in the fridge and it came back to life (although things were never really the same again :crying: )

    Trust me on this one.

no it isnt cause it freezes water particles and damages battery life and the contacts

metals are weakened by going cold and brittle

somewhere warm and dry is the best

phones generally have better chance if buggeredf with water rather than anything fizzy and/or alcoholic
