bulimia

My friend told me about a week ago that she's bulimic, and has been for about a week. i dont understand what shes going through, but i know shes been very depressed lately. im trying to help her & everything, but im not too sure how, as i dont really know how to handle the situation.. i tried to make her eat in small amounts & not be sick when im with her, but when im not i know she keeps on doing it- she says she can't stop. Anyone got any advice on how i can help her?? Thanx!!

hey shooting star, it would help if you encouraged your friend that making herself sick wont solve the problem, it will just make it worse. explain the fact that you and her friends are there to support her, and making herself sick isn't the way out. Be careful you dont hurt your other friends, or b/f (if you have one) in the process, because I know many people that have suffered a brief period of bulimia, and have lost a few friends in the way, oops i'v started chattin Sh*t now, lol. look around on this site there are plenty of stuff to help you out, search the web too, but if worse comes to worst make sure she visits the local doctor where she can get friendly help, let me know how you get on please, good luck.
