Stockings and suspenders

Hello all.
I have a little querey that i could use some help with. My friends bought me some stockings a suspenders from christmas to surprise my boyfriend with, but I've never worn them before and I can't for the life of me work out how to attatch them .
The stockings dont appear to have anythign to clip the suspennders to, which have kind of a slidey plasticy kind of clip.
Wondering if anyone could help.

The clip on the material should consist of two parts. a flap of material- leather or plasticy type with a bump on it, and then a metal "hoop" hook that fits the bump. place the stocking material in between these two pieces, and then push the bump into the hook, trapping the stocking in between it.

not the best of descriptions, but u shud get the idea!!
