One of my cats is quite the savage, he will and does bite and stratch me every now and then. But he looks so good I always forgive him.

Cats dont do 'tricks' because they are smarter than dogs. Dogs are stupid so they have to impress people which 'tricks' otherwise we wouldnt want to go anywhere near them.

Exactly, cats are too smart, they dont want to do tricks or perform stupid tasks. Dogs are easily fooled and therefore easy to train.

i don't think i could stretch to 'smart'. our cat used to try to have sex with out feet, and was often to be found dangling from the settee cause she couldn't figure out how to retract her claws.

Well there are always exceptions to the rule. I'll admit there may be some smart dogs, and some cats arent all that bright, but mostly cats are much better.

but dogs crap outside and don't have sharp claws.

plus, my dog has NEVER pissed on my bed, and the cat used to to it all the time. she shat on my housemate's bed once. hence i think cats are evil.

But dogs can bite really badly.

And my cats mostly crap outside and they have never pissed anywhere near the bed.

They would completely do toilet things outside but I shut them in over night because I worry about them.

Well dont, it gives them the idea that that sort of communication is acceptable when it clearly isnt.

Cats're all business (unless they're sleeping).

Of course, it depends on the cat. Ours used to play fetch and attempt to engage in conversation :eek2:

You cant educate things like that, they need to be fenced off and measures in place to make sure they dont socialise with our sort.
