How many people here (not just you but family members) own a gun for self protection and what are you views on having guns in your house for self protection? Personaly my dad has 2 shotguns locked away but their for clay pigeon shooting.

I wouldn't have a gun in my house, too much scope for accidents, however careful you are. I think ones for sport, like clay pigeon shooting are fine as long as the owner knows exactly what they are doing.

i really don't think it's needed... just make sure your house is locked up tight and you've nothing to worry about (unless the world gets taken over by zombies).

I used to have a little 410 which I wasn't supposed to and it was great fun, but now I just have a collection of air rifles for shooting coneys and shit.
If I go game shooting I usually borrow one of my mates shotguns.

If we brought a gun into the house mum would kill us, probably using the gun we brought!

My uncle used to have an air rifle for sport purposes.

I think you'll find most people in this country that leaglly own guns own them for sport, not protection. We are not talking handguns here.

i got me a handy walking stick.
i dont allow guns at my house.
i think if people go shooting then their guns should be kept under lock and key at the club not the home.

my uncle however has a small 45 that he keeps locked in his safe, i don't even think he uses it,
