if you were forced to chosse a tracker, 95 jetta or escort, what would your choice of hell be?

crap vs more crap with a side of double crap

Obviously I'm not going for looks here, just something in a 20 mile radius of this shit hole town thats under 5k with relitavly low milage. With the hopes and prayers of reliability. And by tomorrow. This is why my selection does ever so suck. So what would the opinions of the masses be. So far I've got a couple friends telling me jetta, one for escort, but I hate fords and my parents for the tracker as it has the lowest milage on it.

jetta is an ok car.. but depending on the model,

fords are pants imo.. and wouldn't go with one of them

that jeep/tracker i've never heard of but looks pretty slinky, cannot comment..

best bet go for jetta :) in my opinion

Looks like a Suzuki Vitara to me.

I agree - VW Jetta is probably the best although '95 is as old as you'd want to go. That last Escort looks suspiciously cheap too.

back in high school, this guy drove a purple one and thats how he got his nickname "Barbie" from his Barbie tracker!! :o

    Chryslers are generally poor, yes.

Don't know what a Saturn is. Ford?

I've test drove a few saturns. They were alright.

I wouldn't get a neon (look Dodge up in the dictionary and it says "to avoid" :p )

I've heard alot of Hondas get good gas mileage and last a way long time. My gramma is extremely wealthy but refuses to give up her beaten up Honda Accord. Its really old but still runs great. Has over 200,000 miles on it...

before you buy a car, go on the websites like bluebook.com where they say the actual value of the car. so do car searching and write down what they are asking $$,how many miles on the car, if its a 4 cylinder or V6 or V8, stuff like that. When we bought my car (which was orginally my brothers) the dealers we went to before were scary. Be careful to be manipulated if you go at the end of the day because they will do anything to have you take the car home that night.

I'd go with the Jetta cause it's a VW & their engines are solid & go on for ages.

Well, I've got a fondness for VW's, and currently have an older Mk II Jetta, and it's OK. In my experience, parts from dealers (this is true for most cars though) are very expensive. I don't think it's the most exciting car to look at, and would prefer the Golf (the Jetta is a Golf with a boot/trunk).
Nor is the Escort, but Fords should be cheap to run.
The dinky 4x4 could be useful if you suffer from bad Winters, but the maintenance and parts could cost more. I'd be tempted by a 4x4, but on looks alone - not that one.

Reliability wise, theoreticly the Fords & VW should be the best for reliability. You should find plenty of local specialists in both, and parts specialists that offer good prices too (this can make a big difference in the affordability of VW's).

If it were my money, just on prefference, I'd go for the Jetta.

I'd take the VW. They run for years and are reliable. Plus its got a fairly got spec on it.

ha. I'd rather jump infront of one naked than take one. Public transportation is for... well its just wrong. Anyways, for those who do not care, I got a 01 Chevy metro. Its cute and it runs. Cant ask for more than that
