Vote Labour! Or not...

Imagine that there was a General Election next week. Who would you vote for? Personally, I don't know. We have a government which has achieved nothing in its second term other than taking Britain into an illegal war on a false prospectus. We have an opposition that can't be bothered with opposing the government. We have nonsense parties like UKIP on the wings. So, who'd you go for? I don't know what way I'd vote, if I'd do so at all...
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

If you decide that you're going to vote for the party that represents your views best, then you just do so even if the party in question hasn't got a chance in hell. For instance, left wingers vote for the SWP, Respect or any other such party. Those concerned with the environment can vote Green; those disenchanted with the Tories can vote UKIP or others... and so on...
Labour will still get in but at least you will have voted with your conscience.
If however you want to vote tactically and affect the outcome of the election as much as possible, then IMO the Lib Dems are the natural choice. Unless things change radically with the Tories, they will never get enough votes to beat Labour- people just don't trust or like them. But if as many disenchanted Labour voters as possible voted for the Lib Dems, Labour might lose so many seats that they might be forced to enter a coalition with the Lib Dems to be able to govern.
If I vote in my home constituency the Conservative MP David Liddington has an 11,0000 majority. If you put a chimp in a Tory suit people would vote for it
In my uni constituency, Labour Blairite MP, Ben Bradshaw has a majority of 8000. Somehow Im not sure if he will be unseated.
The faces of New Labour?
And it's a shame because I think domestically they have done well in most areas (though the Home Secretary and his Orwellians plans are pissing me off quite a bit).
So to be honest I'd be torn whether to vote for a minority party (SWP, Respect or other) or tactically for the Lib Dems. Probably the former, though I must say I find myself agreeing with the Lib Dems in many a policy.
thats the thing, labour have done a good job with the economy and school and hospitals and jobs etc
its just aspects like their willing to do anything for america, and their going towards authoritarian policies since theres not too many reforms that can be done with servies, its this which put me off
im hoping for a reduced majority in parliament so they have to co-ilise with lib dems
they achieved a lot.
they are the best government for everyone in my lifetime.
i will vote labour ...but only if tony is removed. purely because of his support for bush and this phoney war.
if they don't remove him ...then i won't vote.
Liddington himself is actually a rather decent chap, I don't know about his politics though. he's not a very influential govt player tho, is he! The only way to change anything in Aylesbury is to vote Lib Dem, labour have no power watsoever, so if you don't want tories, libdems are the only thing that can topple it.
by the way, decrease a zero..im sure we dont ahve that many people in our constituency!
From a 13,000 majority in 1992, to 269 in 2001. The local boy done good.
Definatly not. I like Mr Liddington, he's a good guy.
Any basis for that statement?
The Lib Dem's fit my view point best, Respect are laughable and their economic policies a bad joke.
And as for "Respect" Id never vore for them I hate George Galloway he is a pure cunt, I hate him and he makes my skin crawl.
If I thought he could actually win and get to power Id be very scared.
It was in reference to what J said, people think it's boring, so people don't vote, so nothing changes for the better.
my mistake, i didn't think we were that big a consituency- but then i am thinking of jus the town and not the whole area!
they don't necessarily need to get in power... if just they had a little bit bigger voice and so maybe could influence things a bit more?
that is good reason why i am not voting for labour!!!
If tory boy is getting fond of new labour then it means us socialists have to look to vote for something else
