Weren't you angry when Shipman commited suicide? Weren't you disappointed that he'd gotten away with it? I know the families were, he wasn't suffering with what he'd done day in day out, he's dead.
No remorse, you should be banged up for life:rolleyes:
No, I'm not an opinion. You still haven't made any sign you regret what you called Kermit, I'm sure he'll be to tell you what he thinks himself. Would you like to address my comments now?
I would suggest retracting that comment.
Libel is a very serious matter. Especially when it is casting such a disgraceful aspertion upon my character.
A retraction would be something. Would you like to address my comments now?
He admitted it was a heat of the moment thing, he knows he did wrong....surely it would be best to leave it there and let him speak to kermit himself.
Kermits a big boy yanno....he can handle this all by himself
paedophile (US spelling pedophile)
n : an adult who is sexually attracted to children.
1. Thompson and Venables were eleven when they murdfered James Bulger, so they fail the first part of the test.
2. They did not sexually assault James Bulger in any way, so calling them paedophiles is actually libelling them.
Just to clear up your confusion.
I'll be here should Luke wish to apologise to me.
I won't be holding my breath.
Fair enough, just be careful with your insults.
No need for the sarcasm.
I wasn't disputing the fact that you mean it, though the sarcasm is grating.
Then you're going way OTT if you're not.
"Oops, shouldn't have said it, sorry" would be enough:)
Quick go before you spoil your chuddies man
Why do people keep saying they were 11?
They were little kids who were failed by society - yes it does matter.
You're not a parent then?
(No I'm not a parent).
Pedantic moron.
They were 11 when convicted.
Does the six months make any difference? No, it does not.
Shut the fuck up, then.
No
Robert Thompson was born on August 23rd of 1982
Jon Venables, born August 13th, 1982
The incident took place on February 12th, 1993
Really?
The whole issue with this case is how one kid is presented as an angel and the other two as evil - part of that is to blur the lines about how young they really were - these were kids who were persistent truants at age 10 still in primary school, and little had been done to deal with that - they had also showed disturbed behaviour in the class room and little was done to deal with that - to try and suggest that 10 year olds have an adult understanding of their actions is going too far - it was an incident that got out of hand, and had there been better community intervention in their lives before it happened, maybe it could have been prevented.
Lukesh even went so far as to label them paedophiles - and that is the resuly of being an uncritical tabloid reader, which is where a lot of the anomosity towards these individuals stems from.
Society failed two young kids and there are an alarming number of adults in this society who feel that it is okay to hold them fully responsible for our failings.
To spend 8 years of your childhood in lock-ups is excessive - and to think that it is okay to hound them forever is sick.
I disagree with this comment, we didnt fail these kids.....the parents did.
The school failed to follow up on truanting, disturbed behaviour - neighbours must have been aware of the families problems - you cannot hold 10 year old children fully responsible for their actions, unless you can hand on heart say that everything possible has been done to ensure that they are properly supervised and that problems have been dealt with.
Its funny how society only seems to act when it comes to condemning people.......
Again the parents are in the wrong here. THEY should have made sure their children went to school etc, you cant blame the neighbours.
They obviously were not being supervised properly, again down to the parents. I would NEVER dream of letting my Daughter go into town alone (she is 9) and it will be a long time before she will be allowed to.....again this is neglect on the parents side.
Too many parents these days just kick their kids out to play they dont know where they are, they dont know who the kids are hasseling and basically the parents dont give a shit.
My 10 year old sees her schoolmates allowed to roam the neighbourhood, and of course she wants to join in - if I was working and not able to be at home, who knows what she might be doing...... there certainly weren't the kind of child minder arrangements that there are now in place in 1993.
Its great if parents have the skills, time and ability to provide a safe upbringing for their kids - but we have to recognise that not all kids are that lucky - and to leave them until something goes wrong and then to condemn them is easy ...... but wrong.
