about 3 weeks ago my dad got this belt that has 3 pads on it and that tones ur stomach. he has used it more than me and i think he can see a little difference in his stomach, whereas i have used it but well i aint seen much difference but then again i havent used it very much. i dont think that they are dangerous. you can set it at whatever level u want it to go at and u can feel ur muscles being pulled and clenched together. i reckon it would work if u used it for an hour or so everyday though so yeah i'd recommend it

My mate has got one of them and I had a go, they bloody hurt!!! Personally I would rather do sit-ups that put myself through those things and whats more its much more rewarding to get a good stomach from hard work than it is from some electric thing, thats just my oppinion though. Im not sure how effective they r, my friend hardly uses hers anymore.

hehe yes drifter you can put them just about anywhere. I'm slightly sceptical about stuff that gets adverised generally on dodgy cable channels! And, it is a shortcut. Which probably means it won't work that well for that long- you'd be much better off doing situps and getting into a routine of exercise. Slendertone won't make you fit!!! D'oh

Those little machines are overrated. They cost a lot to buy (like $100 US) but if you know anyone in electrical engineering, they can most likely build you one for $3. They can hurt some people, but I've tried them before, and it's more useful as a massage for a sore back after a long day's work, than a muscle toner. Besides, you're much better off goin for a 30 minute jog than using that thing. If you're concerned about muscle toning, I'm assuming you're thinking about it because you want to look healthy. Why not go for a walk or a jog instead? Besides, I personally dont trust placing electrical stimulation instruments on my body. Who knows what damage they can do (since those TV products are very very poorly researched and they health risks are generally masked by marketing pitches)

Alcohol actually has quite a lot of calories in it....

hmmm...i've always wondered, what the hell is the point of a dry glass? i mean, if it aint got alcohol in it, then it's pretty bloody useless innit!

Alcohol is very very much a factor in weight gain. That's because it's mostly empty calories. Energy without nutrition. It's kinda like stuffing your face with candy, except without the sweet taste. If you eat too much candy, you'll get fat because candy contains much more energy than your body requires to do whatever you do daily. Similarly, drinking (overdrinking) will do the same, which coins the term "Beergut" which many americans have in their older ages due to drinking, overeating and poor exercise.

    re original subject

i dont think they work. Proper muscle toning can only be induced by full concentric muscle movements using a full range of motion.

Plus they offer no aerobic value whatasoever..

plus exercise thats easy aint proper exercise <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/biggrin.gif">!!
