Are the scabs due to a bacterial infection?

Any idea how long you've been anaemic? When you went to see your GP, did you tell him that you have had long term breakthrough bleeding?

Did you have these scabs (or any spots) before you started on the pill? Did you start getting spots when you started on the pill & then picked them into scabs?

yeah sorry. im 17. my birthday was only a few days ago so i keep forgetting to put 17 not 16. doh!

i didnt have them before i started the pill. and they were lumps which i scratched and they turned into weeping scabs. they are healing abit now and all the scabs are gone with just big red marks. although i think some more are appearing. i dont know how long i hav been anemic for. i found out last week.

do u know what is wrong with me and if it will go away?

i think it could be to do with the fact that i shaved my legs with an old razor which caused the lumps in the first place. then i scratched them and turned them into scabs but i think i spread them to my arms by touching the scabs maybe and then not washing my hands or sumthing. im not sure. do u think this is possible??

I'm not in the medical profession so please don't take this as anything other than a suggestion, I still think that you should go to your GP about all of this.

IMHO I would say that there is a possibility that the spots were caused by the hormonal changes from starting the pill, if you can manage to stop yourself from picking them, if this is the cause, then they will settle down. They will settle down on their own soon enough.

However, if it is bacterial, you will need antibiotics. That's why it is so important to see the GP.

I guess the anaemia could be down to the fact that you have been bleeding for so long, but I doubt it, the actual blood loss even from extensive breakthrough bleeding is minimal. There are other, far more likely reasons like, diet, or just generally being run down.

There is absolutely no way that scabs from picking the spots caused by ingrowing hairs after shaving can be spread to your arms.

    Go see your doc <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif">
