not really a matter of guts, just curiosity.

My aunt checked it out already and she thinks its a cyst (dont ask me what that is) but ive had thousands of boils lanced off and one more doesn't really scare me.

    result= a "sebatious cyst".

its like a spot but its been blocked well under the skin, deep in the pore.

It will take a few years to go away, no operation required unless it gets infected when it first comes up.

Should problems arise (not possible now its already asserted itself without infection) it will have an oval shaped slit cut into it (the doctor drew a diagram when he explained all about the cyst, he was great) and the shit will be squeezed out, and stitched up. But thats not nessicary.

anyway, it should be gone in 3 years.

BUT I've got to have an operation on my right ear drum, when i was little i had gromits, but when they took em out the hole in the ear drum never healed so ive had a hole n the drum for ages now cos i knew i couldn't get water in it cos it would go through to my brain.

but even now it shows no sign of healing so it will be patched up with a piece of skin tissue from my bum (very thin).

    cant wait.

i found it quite gross but nonetheless educational.

ignore these squeamish being Harry, thank you for the information which will be safely stored away in the memory banks.

i very much doubt that water could get to your brain from your ears, unless you actually do just have air in there. i mean, what about all the membranes surrounding the brain for a start? its not just your brain you hit if you go through your ear you know. what about the rest of your ear, have u ever seen a diagram of one? if you did youd see that water isnt gonna just trickle into your brain from your ear.

and whats the deal with the first post having no stairs or posts or anything next to it??

It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, only takes one match to burn a thousand trees

I do think that it is possible to get water into your brain. I'm not sure of the logistics, but I do believe it to be possible.

Cos i'm thinking about a brand new hope, one i've never known, and where it goes, cos now I know it's all that wanted.

Not that anyone probably cares, and frankly I can't tell who is kidding and who isn't, but I get into teacher mode when I hear stuff that isn't correct. If you don't care about the ear stuff, skip the post.

It is not possible for water to travel from the ear directly to the brain. Simply put, the ear is connected to the brain via the acoustic nerve only, not any tubes or anything. It is also not directly against any membranes- it's surrounded by bone, so that method is out too. I think your doctor was probably talking about the potential for infection. A middle ear infection if untreated can lead to a bone infection (mastoiditis), which can then spread to the brain and cause brain infections such as meningitis or abscess. I imagine this is what Harry's doctor was talking about.

And Turtle, I think that what you may be thinking of is a condition called hydrocephalus, but is often called "water on the brain". The name is misleading. To exlain it simply it is a disease where the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord doesn't drain properly. However it isn't water, it's cerebrospinal fluid.

OK, I'll stop the anatomy lesson now. I hope I'm not sounding preachy...just a field I know something about and want to give you accurate info. Of course, maybe I should get a life.

nasty_harry was taking part in a roadblock protest by students from his college about uni tuition fees. the protest barrier went well but one car didn't stop and ran him straight over.

quite a funny site really. he didn't think so tho.
