Something funny about going back to school

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Now I'm in 6th form, there's something hilarious! All the townies who never turned up for class and just smoked outside, still come to school!!! They're not in 6th form, but just walk around the outside of the premises waiting for break and lunchtime to roll around. I know it's kind of harsh to find this funny, but it's kind of ironic they spent all their time skiving lessons when they were at school, and now they're not anymore they have nowhere better to go than school.

Perhaps they should get jobs :chin: or do a GNVQ, or Modern Apprenticiship. Surely they can't think that they can exist living off their parents, hanging outside school smoking fags all day long, can they?

The chav twats do it round here too. Except when they usually come round they try shouting abuse at pupils and teachers, and ride their shitty BMX's in the schools grounds. Then the head calls the police. They go home in a police van.

They do that at my school, the year 13s too. Except one girl has surpassed others. She still turns up daily and parks her done-up red corsa complete with her name across the windscreen outside the gate. I physically had to fight back the tears of laughter when I saw the car.

It wasn't a theory, it was an observation :p.

You're the only one who misinterpreted it though! :D Are you saying at your school you don't have the fuckwits who didn't make it still hanging around because they have nothing better to do with their lives?

Not at my old school, no. Most of the people are getting jobs and going to college etc.

And you misinterpreted it because you defined those who do as you said were fuckwits who had nothing better to do with their lives :p

If they aren't fuckwits with better things to do with their lives, why do they still hang around the college? I mean, simple economics dictates you maximize your output, whether that be happiness or money or whatever, so if they have better things to be doing (whether it be working, or getting qualifications) why aren't they doing them? Because they're so dumb (ie: fuckwits) they haven't realised they're being dumb.

Economics aside, do you not think that sometimes the best thing to do is just to stop what you're doing and enjoy what you have, rather than pushing yourself for your whole life?

In this case, you'd be the fuckwit.

But surely they can only enjoy what they're doing for a small period? Do they see themselves at 35 hanging outside the school gates acting 'cool' with a fag hanging out their mouth? I personally enjoy the challenge, so I've made the best decision for me. Just sitting around waiting to get old and die would be the worst possible scenario for me. But I guess it's up to everyone. It's just the irony of going to school when you don't have to (and have tried avoiding it for so long) that is funny :) and it's got a sad twist on it when you realise they get nothing out of it whatsoever, because they suck.

I did kinda feel sorry for the towny who ran out of school quite upset because she was informed she couldn't return to 6th form. But she never made the effort to push herself, so surely 6th form isn't the right place for her?

But what do they get out of hanging around at school? Surely they can hang out with their mates at more sociable places like pubs, each other's houses, parks or something. Thre doesn't seem to be any benefit to going to school at all, and it certainly doesn't fit with their habit of hating school and avoiding it as much as possible.

Not particularly since I'm normally inside in lessons and they're outside 'looking hard' smoking fags. It's not relevant to my argument anyway; if they detest school so much why spend so much time there when they don't need to?

This happened for about a week after I started 5th year, a few of the people who had left would turn up at break. There was no point in it. Like one boy came all the way up from Easterhouse to be there in time for break at five to eleven. It's madness. And after school there's this one boy who rides him quad bike up and down the street in front of the school and another on a motorbike. Like every day :/

Maybe they're "dealing" to the students? Hope not...

Well, if i was going to use a tiny bit of common sense, i'd say that they obviously don't have to do lessons anymore which was what they would have hated about school. The rest of it they would have enjoyed, as we all did - the breaks, dinners etc. Going back is like one long break, and school is obviously like a meeting point to them which they can all get to without going too far out of their way [They went there every day for 5 years so it shouldn't be any hassle].

Obviously the reason they're going back is to try and rub it in some of the schools kids faces that they no longer have to go to school. They're scared of being nobody, as they tried to be the big "I am" at school: be the cock of the school or whatever you say where you are.

    oooh! marshimaro soooooooooo cute!! :D

personally i feel sorry for them as no matter how often u said you hated school when you leave u jus feel empty as it was the place to socialise and to be someone whether you were a 5th year or 3rd yr, you were somebody. i think they merely miss the old days where they had a "reason" to skip class and smoke behind sheds whatever cos it was so frowned upon, but now they do it cos thats all they know. perhaps?

Some of them come back to brag, but more of them come back because it ain't that fun being on the dole with your life going nowhere.

'cause I think it's hilarious, I hope they are all truly miserable. Except I think they are too stupid to be.

Ignorance is truly bliss in that case! I've always thought intelligence is a curse. :crying:
