What are they like? I suffer from anxiety a lot and earlier maybe had some kind of mild attack, i've been really really tense all evening and i was talking to someone who said stuff which like upset me and i started not being able to breathe right and had to take loads of deep breaths which ended up me feeling really dizzy and needing to like sit down. ?

It sounds like an anexity attack and you did thr right thing control your breathing and and try to think of some thing else and focus on that till you feel calmer try and work out what triggered your anexiety and maybe even talk to your doctor there are great classes on anexiety management witch last a few hours a week if your doctor can arrange it for you.als there are tapes too which might help.
ps your not insane its an natural reaction that needs a bit of fine tunning i know i have been there.

    Hold the phone!

Finally something i know something about! Fear not it does get better with time. When i was in hight school the Docs told me the attacks i had had were panic attacks. Okay here's what they were like for me.

Firstly they would come out of the blue, sometimes when i wasn't even worrid about anything. Then my breathing would become odd, difficult to catch a breath until i'm hyperventilating. Then i'd usually callopse to the floor in a heap. I also used to feel sick, get pins and needles in my hands, face and sometimes all over my body. But then i used to have really bad attacks.

First thing to remeber is - CALM DOWN. Your not dying and this has happened before and you've always come out okay. Postitive thinking is the antibotic to Panic attacks. Keep your breathing under control, try to breath normally and if possible find a quite spot where you won't be bothered by people asking if your alright, unless that it is you feel you'd be worse alone.

Finally go to your Doctor and ask for help. nine times out of ten people suufer panic attacks because something deep down is bothering them and it usually helps to talk to someone.

    Hope this helps.

I suffer from some form of anxiety attacks, but I don't get any noticeable physical 'symptoms', I just get phases where I get really panicked and worried that I am going to faint. I hope that you're right, and that they do disperse over time! It's making my life hell at the moment...whatever I do, whether going out, at school, going shopping, I worry that I am going to start panicking again. I am terrified about the future and going away to uni for th same reason. Help!

    Hey Freya.
I've suffered from lot of anxiety attacks and what happened to you sounds like one.
I'm currently undergoing anxiety management at this place I'm at an there are a hell of a lot of symptons of anxiety.

They're a bitch, but the thing I find best is to lie down and keep telling yourself that it's not gonna last forever. It can be scary, but it's really common. I used to lose my speech (used to? still do on occasion) an shake. It really was freaky
