Montesquieu and women

Could someone please tell me what his general opinion on women is, as I can't really see through his irony and sarcasm on this matter.

Btw, this is not related to school. It's mere curiousity. So no, you're not doing my homework (though I wish I had this kind of homework).

    All I know about him is that he developed the idea of governments having executive, legislative and judicial branches.

    Dunno his views on women. Since he lived in the 18th century, I doubt they were very favourable. ;)

    He was one of the first to promote a secularising of the state, which is why some of his books were published under a cover-name.

    As said though I can't figure out his stance on women which annoys me.

    He basically thought women were useful only for sex, cooking and cleaning.

    You were guessing. And I wouldn't take it for face value, as he wasn't a product of his time for most other things.
