Anyone participated in this?

I'm really intersted and excited about the possibility of doing this; I'd love to spend a year at the Sorbonne in Paris, but a little concerned about the language problem. I'm good at French (at A level standard, anyway) but I'm fully aware that what they teach you in school has little to do with vocabulary etc. that's actually used.

If anyone's been to another country as part of this program I'd like to know if the language barrier caused a serious problem; in lectures, seminar sessions etc., it's my only concern and although I know I'll pick it up quickly, I don't want to miss out on doing as well as I could do on part of my course because of it.
