Getting fit?

OK i'm in the Specials but i've got a long way to go on the fitness stakes! Any ideas on how to fight the beer gut and get into shape? I'm alright with most activities it's just running, i hate it! and start walking after about 3 minutes <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="rolleyes.gif" border="0">

    As byny said swimming is very good. But also if you take part in general sport - it doesn't even have to be for hours on end just go regularly and play footie with your mates - it all adds up. The important thing is not to approach getting fit as a bore, because then it will become a bore and you won't exercise enough. A good approach to going down the gym or going running is to go with a mate regularly, that way you can talk while working out and it becomes as much a social event as exercise. "I'm just going down the gym to meet up with lads". Also, should you be working hard your mate is there to help psych you on.

    If you deicide on running but still have problems then go running 2 times a week and start of with 5 mins. Then next time think to yourself "I am going to do aswell" and before you know it you have done 5 min. Then is the time when "I am going to do better than last week" and push for another 2-3 min on top. Before you know it you will be running for half an hour at a time.

    I used to hate running and give up after 5 min. No after a workout I generally feel cheated if I have spent less than half an hour on the treadmill to finish off the session

    Try Aerobics.
    I go 4 - 5 times a week, we have quite a few blokes in our class. (I am guessing are a bloke- i didn't mean that as an insult if you are not !! )
