I haven't used it personally, but my younger sister used to, and it worked wonders for her when nothing else did.
Bewhere it does have side effects i.e. u might become very very moody, cos it's really strong. But then if u want to get rid of ur acne it's def. worth it!

works a dream, i'm on it atm, on my...erm...3rd or 4th pack, got one more left anyways.

side effects for me? really dry skin, and permanent use of chap sticks (lip balm). aside from that, not a lot else. there is a long list of possible side effects, and who knows - maybe i did suffer from things like mood swings and depression, i'm not sure if the truth be known...but it can't have been that bad

good luck, and keep taking it.

I was going to ask why a guy would be visiting a gynaecologist, but I resisted lest I be told off for being insensitive.

i was on Roaccutane for six months in total - 1 x 4-month period & 1 x 2-month period.
It was originally developed to treat vaginal thrush i beleive, so she cud have got it from a gyancologist, GFM, tho i agree its prob a spelling mistake. (erm, yes. just noticed that he's a bloke so it probably wasnt a gynacologist!!!!)

it worked for me, but only in so far as it reduced the level of my acne quite considerably, but it still hasnt gone away and sometimes i think its slowly getting worse again like Turtle said, it causes very dry skin, ie expect major peeling on a daily basis on ur face, and it did have the side effect of depression on me, unfourtunatley. however, its a wondeful drug, and i went back to the guy to try and talk some more out of him! if you cant get that then try Monocycline. its a stronger version of what you may have already been given eg Oxytetracycline, Doxycycline and is kinda effective.

one bad thing about Roaccutane - u cant touch a drop whilst taking it, or ur liver will blow up or something!

my arse! i've been drinking like a fish since i got it, not done a thing to me. ok, i've not got completely fuckign wankerererered, but pretty trashed.

effects if u do drink too much? jaundice and generally feeling completely shit.

why? cos roaccutane is processed thru ur liver, as such drinking increases the work load, and n all that shit...

there u go now go drink. but only in moderation.

It worked pretty well for me, I was very naughty as I drank, took drugs and sunbathed whilst on it. So I broke all the rules. Make sure you use contraception as it can harm unborn babies.

Surely we shouldn't be taking things that can harm unborn babies. If it messes them up what's it doing to us!!

Yes it is a very strong drug but when your skin is that bad you will risk the side effects. The rubella jab also harms unborn children.

Does it? Has that been medicall prove?

I know there's a problem with the tripple vaxine being linked by some to Autism and Chrons disease but if a pill says 'don't take this if pregnant' surely we should not be taking it!

we're not pregnant, and girls are warned to not get pregnant while they are on it.

and what does it do? biologically, it reduces the production of a hormone (i do believe it is testosterone, altho u wouldn't've guessed it...) and of sebum, which is what causes the spots. i think.

i thought it was the german measles that harmed the unborn children, meaning the rubella vaccine was necessary for young teenage girls? maybe it's recommended that you dont have the rubella vaccine if you're pregnant because it stimulates production of antibodies and that kinda thing?

What I'm saying is...
If it says don't take while pregnant perhaps that should be a warning in general to non pregnant people that there is something not quite right about the drug?

When I was in year 7 at school and we had the rubella jab, I remember the nurse asking each of us if we were pregnant before giving us the jab. How funny is that to an 11 year old?
Medicines are unnatural and have many side effects but if the benefits outweigh the bad points then it is worth it.
