Am I the only one who thinks that's freakishly scary?

And why is that? Because there are now TV programmes about getting it done and its seen as ok. Id ill advise anyone of gettin it done and would prob turn me of a bit knowing a girl did.
What example is it setting
Nip Tuck, what a shite show!
That hurts. ;(
Truth though, no?
yeah I think so too.
Hmmm.... thanx, I think :eek2:
lol
You're getting a lot of agreement today mate. It's a bit wrong innit? The plastic surgery, not that you're right... *shut up now*
if you have the money, then why the hell not! i think i would. nothing outrageous, i'm happy with what i look like usually, but bigger breasticles would be rather nice. yep.
they're paying for it privately, so i don't see why it is any of my business. if they have the money and they want to spend it on carving themselves up, let them go for it.
90% of cases they don't look much different anyway.
I'd add something beginning with "If it's as simple as "I don't like my nose/ears/breasts/whatever, so I'll go change it" then..." here, but I can't really find the words to express what I mean... I hate that.
It' simply sad that you'd need to change physical appearance in a non-natural to be confident. Really sad.
But it is an option if you can afford it. It's when you can't afford it and have to scrimp, save, borrow, money to get some minor op that it's a bit sad. Especially when the op doesn't make a great deal of difference.
I suppose the way to look at it is like any body modification, such as tattoos, or piercings. If you want to do it, and think it makes you look better in some way, then do it.
thought of it? haha, im not planning on getting surgery any time soon!! though i stick to what i said before, if i had the money then i don't see why not. i wouldn't change any facial features because that's going a bit too far i think. & if i got something done then i wouldn't hide it from anybody. in fact if i got a boob job then i would make sure all my friends knew about it & had visual evidence.
& what problems? :crazyeyes
just because i'd contemplate getting bigger breasts if i was rich, doesn't mean I suddenly have issues..come on man, its 2004..!
ive seen a couple of those shows.. 'Extreme Makeover' where the 'ugly' person gets cosmetic surgery, their wardrobe, hair, & body [through fitness training most of the time, may i add] all completely changed. most of them come out still looking like mingers [ahem, sorry guys], but they seem happy after being depressed for so long concerning the way they look. it's all tears & 'MOMMY I CANT BELIEVE ITS YOU'!
if things eventually come down to having to have cosmetic surgery to make one happy & more confident. then i don't have a problem with that. it's their lives, their business, their money & if it makes them feel better about themselves at the end of the day, then bloody good for them.
And what happened to the poll? It's not even in the "previous polls" list anymore!
It is very sad and I think it's a sign of society today. No wonder young girls have self esteem problems if they think surgery is the only answer for a 'perfect' body.
And I'm still wondering why that poll disappeared.
But then i agree that we have all been given these looks and features and we dont have the right to change them unnaturally..im kinda split in the middle.
Its bad that people feel they should do it because they are 'moving with the times', or peer pressure..thats like smoking, and it puts a risk to ones health for the sake of being 'cool'.
Its silly
er, read the thread son.
& you're the one who has a problem with others getting cosmetic surgery. so thats a bit hypocritical. isn't it now.
i do like myself the way i am. im not a minger. i'm not a beauty queen either, but i'm definitely not a minger. i just think if i could & had the money, then it would BE NICE to have larger breasts. i dont know if id go through with it. but thats something else. i don't have aproblem with others getting surgery. and i certainly don't think i have a problem either, for contemplating contemplating it!! so like i said, you're definitely not the one to be pointing the finger. ya get me.
Yes, I am that one. How is that hypocritical?
You didn't say this before, so sorry.
You don't. But if, as you appeared to be saying before, only lack of money was stopping you from doing it then you would have a problem. A serious self-appreciation problem. I'm not saying this in a degrading(sp?) meaning.
Honestly, I'm not pointing the finger. If it was only a few people, perhaps I would be. But in this case, I feel more like I'm suffocating.
And please, don't use that "Ya get me" attitude.
unless it's necessary, all teenage girls who get it done should die and thats not a euphamism, just die silly wee girls.
