Lord Chancellor

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Why has Blair fucked this up?

He insituted the Department of Constitutional Affairs, but seems to have no evident replacement for the role of Lord Chancellor.

So what if the Lord Chancellor had roles in all three branches of government (as a seat on the Cabinet, speaker of the Lords and head of the judiciary)? Was there any detrimental effect of such a thing?

It could be 'archaic', but so what? Lots of aspects of the 'constitution' could be viewed as outdated. Is that anything new?

We don't acutally have a constitution, unless you count the Magna Carta. Just a system of traditions that people don't violate, they've been laid down by history.

Of course, constitution is a collective term. When did I say otherwise, fuckwit?

You didn't say either way actually. I brought it up because you said
Lots of aspects of the 'constitution' could be viewed as outdated
which implies that we have one. Especially considering your history of punctuation.

Actually there are not all 'traditions' the Acts of Union, Representation of the Peoples Acts aren't 'traditions' they are laws.

it wasn't them I was refering to. Nor do your examples exist as a replacement for a constitution.

Some parts of the unwritten constitution are statute, some are convention.

Reinforcing such a statement would be no new news to me.

You want to watch that tone, otherwise you'll be looking at a ban.

    Change? You changed nothing.

Again what? I did nothing wrong last time to warrant a ban!

    Feelings?

'Normal people' here can control their 'feelings' and not let things bother them. What I or anyone else posts here doesn't influence nor have any absolute effect on a poster's real life.

Racism is not tolerated in contemporary society. Besides this is a free society and a person has the right to any belief they choose (they do as default).

I respect thesite's owners decisions. As a member we all have no choice but to do so.

Well clearly not, otherwise you would not be being threatened with a ban this time, nor would it be the second time you have been banned.

I accepted the ban; that's following their decisions.

It's not like you had a real choice in the matter. Nor have you technically accepted it, because you've come back, and been threatened with it again.
