So, my birthday is coming up soon, I'll get £50, and I also have £100 or so in the bank, but I don't want to spend it all. So around £75-£115 is my budget, and I've been looking at radeon 9600s. But then I saw this. If you look at the sellers other purchases he's sold several and for some unknwn reason they've been going at aroudn £60-£70, for a radeon 9800! I checked the specs against ati's website and they're they same as the radeon 9800 pro 128mb; the problem being though all the other ones on ebay go for aroudn £130 at least!! Very annoying. But I've heard the 9800 is a lot better than the 9600...

I can't get that particular one because I don't have paypal *grumbles* and I can't find an equally cheap one; but what would you say I should do? Get a nice 9600pro/xt (if i can afford it) or a new 9800se or if im very lucky a 9800pro, though I don't think I will be able to afford it.

I've also heard something about although a 9600xt has a faster core speed the 9800se has 8pipe architecture to the 9600's 4pipe, so to compare you double the core speed of the 9800

ETA: the 9800se can be softmodded to a 9800pro but apparently over time this messes up the memory :(.
