Depends how old they are. When ur 13 it is just a competition...its a bit young to be declaring marriage Its like a popularity contest, and the lads they pull are doing the same thing.

Who cares, as long as they dont catch anything

Personally, I think it's different for everybody. Some people compete for the best caring boyfriend/girlfriend, others compete for the best looking one.

I myself see life as a long term competition. I mean the saying "Survival of the strongest" is really true in a way if you think about it. For example, (this has been tested and agreed) men usually choose women with a shape of a coca cola bottle, that's because men's instinct tells them that the woman is in a right state to breed (it's true believe it or not). While women will choose a man with a high social status, lots of money, well built...that's because their instinct tells them that they need a man that can support and protect the family.

Or how about this? Without competition, there'll be no improvements in life. It's based on accepting the best and rejecting the worse (those in the middle needs a bit of luck) in any competition.

As human, we evolved because there was competition where you like it or not.

Or shall I just say, everyone out there wants to have the best there is out there, whether it's cars, computers, dresses, suits, watches, love (friendship, family, partner). And as part of everyone, we also will choose something that's better instead of choosing something that is not as good.

We are a bunch of people that has "Compete with others" built into us through evolution.
