prawns

when you eat prawns do you feel like gagging, because you can feel the shape and texture of their little bodies inside your mouth? Or is that just me?

Other strange food comments welcome

Not with prawns. I know what you mean though; when I was about six I just couldn't eat triffle without gagging. It was just like eating whale blubber.

I can't eat anything that looks like it was alive, like prawns and shrimp and fish that look at you and other such things. :yuck:

I ate crab once, that was a great achievement for me. :(

but what about the way you bite into them and theres a slight crunch as the body segments come away from eachother, and the pointy feeler things on their heads which get around youre tongue? And the way they still resemble a liing creature?

I went to a Chinese banquet once. I think it was Mongolian actually, a Mongolian hotpot banquet. Anyway, all the food was raw on the table, and you had a pot of boiling water, and you boiled all the raw food yourself before eating it.

The prawns were still alive on the table. You had to fish them out with your chopsticks and boil them alive. I seem to remember there were some slug type things which were still crawling about on a plate too. :yeees:

If you lot think that prawns are disgusting, then you should've seen some of the stuff someone at work ordered from www.edible.com :yuck: Worm crisps, worm lollies, giant ants in chocolate, etc. Actually, if offered them, I would've eaten them! :D

i'd rather eat food where i could recognise where it came from rather than think "i wonder what animal this came from?" :p

i love prawns and seafood in general: squid, lobster, shark fin soup, crab, clams, mussels, sea bass, the list goes on and on :yum:

I went for dinner at my aunt's house yesterday and she had made prawns

She's old school, eats it with all the shell on, etc!!
I had to peel mine and then cut it up into little pieces so it didn't feel like a prawn.
