    I've seen average size mentioned umpteen times on websites. Average sizes I've seen on them range from five and a quarter, to six and three quarters. However, the most commonly quoted average sizes are five and three quarters or six inches.
    The next thing is - how to measure it? There seems to be half a dozen different ways to measure, and they can produce wildly differing results, sometimes more than two inches difference depending upon the method, technique, and the person measuring.
    Just don't worry about it too much.
