    Telewest.

    £17 a month I think.

That £17 one is for 256k connection i think. Or you could always get a 724k connection for £25 (£27 with no other telewest service).

The 724k one can download things up to 85kb per second so your average mp3 will download in about 50 seconds.

Or you could go all out and get a 3mb connection for £50 a month, fast business lol

you forget that telewest is only available in certain areas, with NTL being in the other areas that telewest does not cover and visa verca.

Telewest / NTL are good options, and for me, my NTL connection has been as steady as a rock.

My neighbour rung freeserve and bargained on the phone and got a discount - he said why go with freeserve if BT are cheaper - I don't think they were but the get at freeserve didn't know any better

    ADSL ISP's :

    Pipex(Solo 500)

    Nildram DSL 500

make sure if you get dsl you get an uncapped service like the two above, you'll pay a few quid extra but it's cheaper to do that if you download quite regularly.

www.adslguide.org.uk will let you compare broadband isp's (excluding cable ones) but you'll find that nildram and pipex are pretty decent and offer good deals :-)

Pipex are "good", NTL are "not good". That doesn't really mean much to us. Expand on it please.

    thats a opinion.

I have NTL and i couldnt be more happy with it, connection never drops out, always getting constant 120kb/s downloads and 30 kb/s uploads. Ping times are good.

Different people have different experiences with business', its a fact of life :p

ive never really been in an area covered by cable, telewest knocked out a whole area's electricity so the council told them to stop digging and we never got cable in our area,

i imagine i would've probably have gotten cable over dsl if i had the opportunity, but it doesn't really make a difference

don't forget to check download limits - there's one on the lower speed blueyonder / telewest services.

I live in Leicester and I don't have a problem with it, but then again I've never had a different provider. It's reliable though :) and pretty cheap.
