02 Tariff

I done a search and found a similar thing but it was from 2002. I want to know if Genie is still running. My corner shop has a new list and one of the sims is the "Gini Tariff" it's £6.99 I think and gives around 300 free texts a month. I just want to know if this is a good thing and if anyone else has this new one because I just got a new phone (well, second hand) and it's on T-Mobile and it's beginning to piss me off cos I just registered an E-Top up card and it wouldn't work in the shop today and I was really embarassed when the thing wouldn't come through (I was standing for ages like a complete arsehole)

Here's the other thread

Genie was taken over by o2 a while ago and they renamed the tariff 'Online Pay as you Go + 300 texts"

Yes, but this one is called Gini and it isn't online. It's a sim card.

No idea... is it conteccted to a phone network? Or is Gini the only name it mentions? Doesn't sound like it's connected to Genie (which no longer exists anyway).... I'd be wary....

Is Gini operated by o2? A google search brought up nothing so I'd be slightly wary.

Genie was an excellent company, slightly went downhill when mmo2 took over but still a good deal

Well if the Gini thing isn't 100% then what service should I go with? I've only been with 02 and T-Mobile. I would stay with T-Mobile but I'm pissed off that my card isn't working and then with me seeing the list of cheap sims I thought I would ask here and see what's the best one to go with.

The 300 text thing is pretty good, i've got about 5 of those sim cards :D

T-Mobile is shit if you're on the Everyone plan or got put on it.

If you order a pay as you go SIM online from O2, you get 300 free texts. The online tariffs are actually quite good - the one i'm on at the moment gives me loads of free minutes to ring any mobile, any network off peak for free, plus 500 free texts. It's worth checking out :)

I take it it's this one you're talking about?

I don't like the fact it charges you for voicemail and customer services ;(
