What do you think is the most over-rated entertainment? Could be a specific TV show or a movie. Actor/Actress. Band. You get the drift.

For me it would have to be The Darkness. Crap singer. Poor guitar. Lifeless songs. 'nuff said.

i agree.. the darkness are incredibly overrated and i have friends that like them, but i do not! And cant believe theyre headlining Reading! Same with the white stripes actually..im sure theyre fine, but saw them at Reading a couple of years ago and instantly didnt like them for some reason..

I don't really think they're overrated, and I don't really think they mean to be taken seriously. It's a certain sense of humour that they're playing up to. Not my cup of tea either but their outfits are funny! I reckon reality tv is hugely overrated. And things like Undercover Lovers etc.; it's time-wasting material but nothing more.

    the darkness, definately

i'll say that old music is over rated as well. the beatles may have been this all mighty all conquering band once upon a time, but they don't do anything for me.

I agree about LOTR tho. I've never read/watched any of them and feel no need to.

I'm going to be shouted at, probably, but metal. I just don't see what the fuss is all about. It would be nice to be able to post this without having a hundred people saying "you are just a clueless pop sheep and..." blah blah blah. I have heard some, and what I have heard I don't like it. Big deal.

    Sex and the City.
    All soaps apart from Hollyoaks.
    PS2.

I wouldn't have said the books themselves were much to write home about tbh.

    Busted

Not that I have anything against them really, just because they are overrated. But I won't say anything else at the risk of re-starting that argument.

Morrisey. He isn't a god. He's a grumpy old man. Don't have anything against his music as I have only heard two or three songs.

    Robbie Williams.

And there are bands that have been doing what The Darkness do now for years and years - in actual fact most 80s hair metal is the same - cock rock. If you said a year ago you liked 80s metal you'd be laughed at, now its 'cool' to like The Darkness and its the same old stuff, they have just made it more acceptable to the masses.

I must say I really enjoy their music. I think in the last year or so I've become more tolerant of what I would deem shite music (RnB, boybands etc) because you can't really help what music you like - it is personal taste. Seriously, if you don't like it, turn the radio off.
