Introduce him to your mum, let her see him as a person rather than a stereotype of a race. If she cant see past that carry on your relationship anyway, shje has no right to dictate who you should and shouldnt go out with

    good luck

    Are you white?

Sounds like you parents are fuckers...Tell them what ignorant racist shits they are being. If they keep it up then ignore them.

I just soooooooooo agree. The girl tells em its racist and upsetting her and they STILL carry on. They're mindless fuckwits.

Something tells me the she's a he. Or the he's a he. Either way.

And agreed with all above, but can't think of anything to resolve the conflict of ideas.

I don't think so....in another thread she said

"i know how u feel a lil i'm bi and i told my mum she jus ignored me and said i was confused and curious. Most of my friends were really supportive but one of my friends thinks i made a pass at her and is not speakin to me..."

I don't think this friend would have been freaked if she was a he! at Turtle being wrong for once, hehe

But to answer Pheonix's question...is there any possibility that they were just teasing you, albeit in a fairly tasteless way? Do they make those sorts of racist comments often? I know it's a horrible situation for you and you felt mortified for your bf's sake, but from your brother's girlfriend's experience it doesn't sound like they'd say that kind of thing in front of him. So, don't be afraid of the introduction, it won't necessarily be as galling as you might imagine. Just try and talk to your parents about how upset you were by what they said.

If it's any consolation, I've been going out with my boyfriend for a year, but I've still not met his parents and family. I'm not sure who he's trying to protect....

Your parents are just havin a laugh, although they had no right to upset you like this, they proberbly didn't realize how much he means to you, it's a good idea to let them meet him.

sorry to hear about your parents being like that. Racism is something that upsets me, as i have many foreign friends over here including several chinese

the best course of action would be to discuss with your parents, and tell them that what they say is unecessary and upsetting. just becuase he is a chinese, why should they make fun of him?

in my opinion, chinese people are the most handsome in the world.. :D

It had nothing to do with you being bi - I think Turtle assumed you were a bloke becaused you'd said something about your parents being cool about you having a boyfriend, which to those not paying proper attention makes you sound like a gay bloke.

The reason I quoted that previous post was to put him right, and prove that you were a girl! No offence was intended, and your sexuality was irrelevent.

Ignore your parents if they continue like this and keep away from them. Dont let them ruin the relationship you have with your b/f. And tell them to grow up!

BTW - maybe introducing him to your mum and dad isn't such a good idea, unless you know for sure that they won't make any racial slurs to his face...
