I tried, I really did try and resist putting this in anything goes, and im sorry, but this song is just way to beatiful to ignore; i love it. and the film is fantastic as well; if you havent seen it (donnie darko) go and see it.
the lyrics are gorgeous, and its so different from a lot of the music around in the charts at the moment - so make sure we make it number one for christmas people! i know some people arent going to like it; but I think its beautiful, and a hell of a lot of people are raving about it, so if you havent heard it, try and download it or listen to your radios
its a cover of tears for fears' 'mad world' and is by Michael Andrews and Gary Jules.

I was very surprised to here it on Radio 1 a couple of weeks ago but I gather it's being released as a single over christmas.
Finch's Acoustic Cover clicky click
Well I'd much rather have that than some Pop Idol disposable pap that'll be entirely forgotten by the following christmas.
im agreeing with tim and his comments.
who is finch??!
A band (a great one at that ), they've also done a cover of it.
yeh but its a shit song! quite funny the first time you see the video, but very shit compared to this one - this one is art
try and download it, its really good. just type in gary jules - mad world
Mad World
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
And their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tommorow, no tommorow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
'Cos I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World
Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me
did u guys get the end of donnie darko? ive heard a lot of theorys bout it,
i think that ghosts can travel freely through time, and that frank came back in time in order to lead donnie and show him all that so that he would kill himself, so noone would get on that plane and therefor noone would die,
think im stupid or do u agree?
ps. the song is one of the best ive ever heard, tears for fears version wa sthe best
ok i will
to be honest, I cant remeber the ins and outs of the film, i remember it was fantastic, and i remember telling myself to watch it again, which im going to tonight. I'll let you know what i think about your conlcusion when i've refreshed my memory
ok i've read over stuff a little bit and think you might find this interesting.
yes its a good song but like 15million people on my msn have had that line as their name it never ends
Sure, they're a good song/film, but not good enough to have 10 threads about them. By the same person. Mostly in the same forum.
well said
