Nude Art

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
What do you think about it? do you think its artistic or just cheap porn? Would you do it yourself? Mainly photographs Im talking about, but it could be scetches, or paintings, or sculptures or anything like that really. What are your views on it?

    photo's no.

i can see it as being art if its a nice classy pose. if its a provoctive or suggestive pose, then i wouldn't consider it art really.

that's what I mean, I mean real art, like Ralph Man stuff, nothing glamourish or in colour or anything like that. Must be black and white and must be very strong, stylish and creative pieces. would you still consider it a bit of porn? or do you think that everyone would initially see it as a piece of art?

i see that kind of stuff as art. i would presume that most people do. but some people are still weird about it. like i was in rome and some of the naked statues, their sex parts were all worn off from people touching them :eek2:

oh my god that's disgusting. people do it though - i bet most models in magazines have been wanked over. thats a horrid thought, but i bet its true. you know theres some sad bastards out there who go out and buy these women's magazines just to see the girls in them. *shudders*

what do you mean womens magazines? like cosmo and stuff? because with those, i think that they are marketed more for men than women in a way. they are full of sexual pictures and ads and honestly, what self respecting woman wants to spend her time reading crap about how to dress like a model for under $100 or finding out if your man is naughty or nice

 it makes me laugh when I go to get a paper and there's all these teen girls magazines, you know like sugar and 17, and its like 'make him snog you' or '10 ways to pull that fit boy' all over the front, with a free lip gloss. makes you realise where we go wrong with our kids nowadays! (well, not mine - oim childless but you know what I mean)

yeh i've been up there quite a few times! some of the stuff in there is lovely. I think its so artistic. i've been considering shaving my head and converting to a nude fine art model - bald all over and just natural ;) but then i love my hair too much!

I think most nude art is well 'artistic'
I would however consider very provactaive colour photos as porn.

simple line art or complex oil can be considered 'erotica'. nowt wrong with it ...and if it's good ...very erotic.

I have no problem with it - again, if it's tasteful (but who's to say what's tasteful?!)

An aside, a friend of mine does nude modelling and she was telling me that you can earn huge amounts of money from it! Not hugely surprising. I have to admit I wouldn't do it. 1) I could not sit still that long, and 2) I am not exactly someone you would want to see naked. Ewwww!:eek2:

I've done several Life Drawing sessions at my college class and I wouldn't consider it pornographic in any shape or form. It basically teaches you a lot about the body and it's proportions, texture, tone, etc. plus it's essential you have some in your portfolio for art school.

Nude art I believe is beautiful... I mean if were were supposed to wear clothes we'd be born with them on.

And why be ashamed ofthe human form? We'll see a naked person eventually... right?
