So, the latest round of trade negotiations in Mexico has collapsed, largely over the issue of US and EU farming subsidies. Is this an indication that the world isn't 'ready' for free trade? or is it a simple manifestation of selfishness on the part of Western countries? or is it simply that African farmers don't vote in Western countries' elections, and we could expect nothing different?
