Do you mean those things that are a Sofa and convert into a bed?
or do you mean those very, very low beds like 6 inches off the ground (otherwise known as Shagging beds - cos they're made low for all those Karmasutra positions)

I saw one of those (bed coem sofa types) in Costco about £130 I think? Was metal frame and the matress had a different pattern on each side so you could choose which you liked best.

    futon.jpg

But wouldn't the wooden bit around the edges hurt when you're gettng up to all sorts?

I quite liked the look of this one - you could have a mate sleep over

Also brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "wanna be on top?2

I want a double one, they are amazingly comfy. I slept in one last weekend and it was the best nights sleep ever. I normally move around a lot in my sleep and end up inside my quilt with my head the wrong end of the bed. This time I woke where I fell alseep, or atleast got back in the right position. Being so low to the ground is strangely theraputic  *sighs*

www.futons.co.uk brings up a site that has links to many different sites, including futon specialists.

Oh, and there's www.futons-direct.co.uk as well. Nice looking steel framed one on their home page.

the thing i found with my old futon, was that if you slept on it every day (rather than use it for when you had guests or whatever), it went really flat, cuz you just squash all the stuffing down after a while. i mean if you sleep onj it EVERY day for AGES. the actual futon wouldnt give you half the support and for half the length of time as a matress but at the beginning they are pretty comfy :D and great for a whole night of non-squeek shagging

I was thinking the same thing about the support fading quickly.

When i replaced my Matress I went for one without any springs in it at all .. I hate the springs poking in you at night.

I ordered it off the net and it came all rolled up - they remove the air from it but once you open it the air goes in and it gains it's full shape. Very firm though perhaps a bit too firm for me - but way better then my last Matress
