What do you reckon would be good songs to cover. my band has decided on doing a few 80's songs and a few others. (in live sets). we've got about 5 of our own songs, but need to fill out with covers. so heres the list, tell me which you think, please.

The Doors - People Are Strange
Talking Heads - Same As It Ever Was
Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me Right Round
Fugazi - Bed For The Scraping
Savage Garden - To The Moon And Back
Ramones - Pet Semetary

we haven't really got a genre. some songs sound like punk, some more stadium rock style, and some sound emo. the old songs like dead or alive would be done in a completely different way, but still keep similarities with the original. if ya know what i mean.

    no genre huh?

well, if you can do it well, Seven Nation Army can be hypnotically addictive.
most Sex Pistols tunes are good to cover, with their different sytles from diffferent vocallists.
Bat out of Hell :p (you did say stadium rock) but that verges on operatic rock.

    Hi

How about 'Rockin in the free world' by Neil Young?

Or anything from Bryan Adams '80s stuff...

In my old band we used to do a version of the theme from 'Rhubarb and Custard'..... !!!!!!!!!!!!!

My mate's (now defunct) band did a cover of the bad touch, sounded mucho like the original but they were ska so there was brass in there which sounded cool...
