Detatching yourself from the family business

I've worked in our family business since i left college in 1999 and now i've woken up to the fact that my parents will never ever let me anywhere near the management side of things. They seem determined to keep me as a skivvy for the next decade or so, excuse being that i fuck everything up and can't do any job properly. I beg to differ but can't be arsed anymore with arguements.

Basically though i want to start applying for new jobs but am aware that it will have done me no favours working for my dad. So anyone's advice on how i can make my CV sound a bit better would be appreciated. Do i give it the "i've learnt all i can learn line?"
