Car Brands - Loyalty

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
My friend just bought his third VW in a row, and my uncle and his son their 3rd Nissan - do you stay loyal to one particular brand of Car or doesn't it make a difference.

And if you have been loyal in the past what caused you to change? My first car was a FIAT, then my mum got the same one and then I got another - so pretty loyal to them - but recent car problems is making me have 2nd thoughts when I come to get my next car.

One of the reasons I stuck with FIAT's was the ergonomics of the car suited my shape!!

My Dad and sister both have Ford Fiesta's and after getting out of one of those I find I ache all over - just find them so unfortable.

I also like the handling - tried a new Corsa once and it was really unpredictable - maybe I was unlucky and got a bad one!!

Although the thing I hate about all Italian cars are the dealers suck and charge a bomb - mainly I guess due to lack of competition - where as there's loads more Ford and Vauxhaull Dealers out there.

I here the Japanese and Korean dealers are very good, as too are Skoda dealerships.

I wish I had a car to be loyal too :(

My dad used to be a Nissan man but now he's got his Beemer I don't think he'll be getting rid of that for a long time.

My mum's been all over the place with cars though - Nissans, Maestros, and now she's got one of them little Mercedes A class things.

I'd be happy with a Lada!

My Dad got the same car for the same reason. Oh, and my sister got a discount because she works for VW group. My family had a fleet of Nissans, and before that, we had a few Fiats. Just because we are familiar with the people who work there.

I really wanted a Tigra when they first came out - but was way out of my price range at the time - I was also considering a Ford Puma - until I sat in one and realised - it's a bloddy Ford Fiesta on the inside!!! - Really uncomfortable!!!

Although I think all sports car are pretty uncomfortable - although the FIAT Couple I sat in was lovely!!! My cousin test drove one - for his new company car - but said it was too fast!!! Said he was scared of it!!! So got a 3 litre Alfa !!!

Now he's got a Porchse Boxster!!! He just gets whatever is flash!!!

Do you mean a totally new car?

Normally I'd say go for nearly new or import, but there are some really good deals around on new cars if you pay monthly.

I've always had a VW of some sorts. It's more a case of having to work on my own car to afford to be able to keep one, and just getting to know the way they're built and designed. Means I can go from a Polo to a Golf to a Jetta to a Passat, and there are lots of similar features and ways that things are done.

Your brother must be a midget!!! I can only drive them by opening up the sunroof.
I think they're half decent looking without doing them up. My Mum's got one (in red), and I like it. Goes like stink for such a small engined car (but then 16 valves and fuel injection helps). A good fun car - almost good enough to forget it's essentially based on the ugly Corsa.

Oh, and text talk is annoying. Stop being so lazy and type properly.

Why would you want to do that? You'd take an ugly car and spend money making it look even worse!

I can't stand boy racers and their "Maxed out" Novas.

I've already got a VW lined up, partially cause I've heard second hand VW's are good, well built etc, but because my company is VW owned.

yeah VW is very well built - my dad had a VW Derby for many years until last october when he parked it and someone smashed into it.

The car was really old but never broke down or let him down - ever!!

I had a Cav, 2 Nova's, 2 205's, and Escort then I bought myself an Alpha 33 Boxer about a year and a half ago. Liked it so much I recently got myself a better one (16v with 200cc's more). I've modified mine a little - side skirts and low profiles and a few other little nice touches ...doesn't mean I cruise round trying to pick up school girls tho.

    I'm hooked on Alpha's now - if I had the money I'd get a 147 GTA! ;)
