i really need a job.
i also really want to dye my hair pink again. i've been keeping it blonde all summer so as not to impede my employment options.
i was just wondering if there is anyone who'd employ me with pink hair?

or you could claim yourself to be a minority group and get in on positive discrimination
i love it too.
i used to work in free spirit (skatey-type outdoorsy shop) when i had pink hair, and everyone commented on it.
especially the old people. i'd get comments like 'well, how colourful! you certainly cheered me up'.
i personally think that the way i keep my hair (neat, clean, pink) looks a lot neater and smarter than those people who have messy, greasy natural hair colours.. and it's not like i have piercings through my eyeballs or anything....
i will keep looking.
I was once sacked, on my first day, for turning up woth an earring. I was asked to remove it, but as I had only had it done a few days previously, that wasn't an option. So I was sacked on the spot. Naturally I looked into things from a legal perspective and the only way I could have challenged things was if I could show discrimination.

it's not a case of wanting a job. it's a case of needing to pay off my very substantial overdraft.
there is ONE alternative-type shop where i live. and i already asked. however, if i take in some samples of the clothes i make she might sell them through the shop... then i would be able to have my beeyodiful pink hair back. if i can make enough money selling my clothes i wouldn't need a job...
and my hair is not long enough to tie up
i was looking in wakey, but if i get desperate enough, i'll consider leeds. just don't want all my hard-earned cash disappearing into travel expenses...
i may have to wait until all the students leave their summer jobs... there's always loads available mid september. and i've got a 2 day week this coming semester.
They shouldn't, but some people inevitably will. It wont necessarily be the case that they would say "we're not giving you the job because you have pink hair", either.
heh. you are a genius.
my boyfriend just cycled past HMV on his way to work and has sent me a text saying they've put up a sign for christmas temps.
temp job = better than no job.
so i'll go in when the shops open and smile sweetly at them.
thanks for the suggestion.
My contract states that extremes of hair colour are not acceptable and will result in action being taken. However I later learned that they stole the employment policy from the main NHS one, and I have bright red hair anyway, and my boss loves it.
or setup a little eBay shop?
I'me sure if your designs are good they'll find a market.
I've known people that buy clothes from all over the world on eBay.
Porn shop.
