bootlegs

sorry i do know that this is the wrong forum but i am looking for sum information quickly. i was wanting to put some bootlegs i have done on my website but i wasn't sure if i would get in trouble for it?

    Don't worry about it mate. I've done loads and one or two have been played on Vibe FM and Radio 1. The record industry are not that bothered unless your making a profit or trading in large amount's.

    Becky, it's basically an unauthorized remix of a song.

    Yep, thats right. If you did want to sell them just don't use a name you are known by, but putting them on a web site should be fine. At most you will be asked to remove them.

    There are bootleggers about that have been signed by record lables to do legit remixs like www.mcsleazybootlegs.co.uk (I think). It's also a quick way of gettin' into the music biz.
