Sometimes when the people most like you don't love you, it is a hurt that can cause the greatest pain, and this pain can lead you to hate everything.

    Hi Rose!

It's completely up to you whether you put on a jumper, as it is your body and it doesn't sound like you'd be hurting anyone. If you would feel more comfy with a jumper on then this is just as valid as if you don't wish to wear on. Can we explore a bit about what makes you worry if it is okay to have them on show?

Thank you @Leyla im on holiday so the last time I had scars on show whilst here was when someone said “so your one of them” to me and when I’d asked what they meant all they said was “attention seekers”

Hey @Rose113 thanks so much for making this post. That sounds really hard, and I can hear how that person's judgements may have left you questionting whether or not its okay for you to choose not to cover up your scars.

How did it make you feel when that person made their comment?

There are so many reasons why a person might have scars, all of which are valid. and you also don't owe anyone an explanation. Scars are a part of us, a part of our bodies and what we've each been through, though I hear this may bring up mixed feelings. and you deserve to be able to exist in your body however makes you feel most comfortable, esspecially as the weather gets warmer.

How do you personally feel about your scars being visable? What feelings does that bring up for you?

We're all here for you in full support and without judgement :3

    Hey @Sian321

Now looking at my scars I think people will be more bothered about the gigantic bruise on my leg from aerial

At the time the comment hurt a lot but now I think it just bothers me that I was labeled like that

I don’t like my scars especially now because when I was younger I never really got scars for sh but now I seem to but not sure why and especially because my scars tend to be darker than my actual skin tone because I am very pale usually

If it helps rose I stopped covering mine because I realised they don't know me they don't know what I went through to make me put them there and they certainly don't have any right to invalidate or judge it just like they don't have that right for you. Trust me I know it's not that simple but the fact you are even considering letting them be seen shows massive strength and progress so even if you decide not to I'm still massively proud of you
