something embarrassing happened, I set a Dalmatian picture as a background on a PowerPoint for media and it triggered me and I started having flashbacks to being back into the foster home (we had a Dalmatian puppy there)
I got so stupidly upset over it and cried to my teacher who surprisingly understood but I’m so embarrassed like it was just a harmless picture, why am I like this 🙁

i know it’s hard, but try not to be be hard on yourself, your reaction wasn’t “stupid” at all. it might’ve just been a picture, but your brain tied it to something really intense from your past, and that’s not your fault. trauma responses don’t follow logic, and honestly, it’s brave of you to even talk about it!
i’m really glad to hear that your teacher was understanding! you didn’t do anything wrong. you were just reminded of something painful, and your body reacted the way it needed to. you’re not like this because something’s wrong with you, you’re someone who’s been through a lot, and you’re still here, still trying. that is strong, not embarrassing!
i’m proud of you
