Shutting down

Summerjune15Summerjune15 Posts: 110 The Mix Convert
I have to bury my trauma deeper and try to forget about my trauma I’m going to shut down until I can find the strength to deal with all these painful emotions on my own again I’m going to put up my front again and try my best to be cruel and mean it keeps me safe from anymore hurt.

Hi I want to say that I know how it feels to resort to being cruel and mean to protect myself, I'm not trying to downplay what you are going through, I just wanted to say that if you ever need a friend to talk with I would absolutely be here❤❤❤❤

Hey. ☺️ I can certainly understand where that is coming from and I truly hope with all my heart that you’re doing okay. I’m sorry to hear about it all. Trauma can be so damaging. If you ever need someone, we’re all here for you. 🫶 Please try and be kind to yourself firstly. Treat yourself softly and with love and care, because you deserve no less.
My forest welcomes your sad days too.

@Summerjune15 , I really want to echo what everyone else has said here and send you the biggest hug.

Trauma can impact us in so many ways, esspecially our ways of relating to ourselves and our relationship-styles with other people too. It makes sense that sometimes being 'mean' might feel like the safest option when people have hurt you in the past. Closeness with others can be so, so scary sometimes. And it sounds like you're not alone in feeling this way <3
