Open day on Monday

I have an open day on Monday, though I'm not too sure what it is about. I think they might offer unpaid job placements, with the possibility of a paid role if I perform well. However, I'm not feeling too positive about it because too many times things have looked promising but haven't led to anything. I'm trying not to rely on this or get my hopes up and am keeping other options on the back burner. I have a few opportunities lined up and am just hoping one of them works out, but I often find myself stuck in negative thoughts.

This is fair enough because sure, you’ve had your hopes up to be let down many times before so it makes sense you want to protect your feelings by not getting your hopes up again.

I’ll keep my hopes up for you though brother. You deserve a placement. You’re a grafter and although you might not get paid initially, whoever takes you on will no doubt see how hard of a worker you are to offer you a proper job.

Hey @TheNightmare How are you doing today? I can hear how the open day might be quite unpredictable and you might not know what to expect and can understand how you might not want to get your hopes up about it. Will be thinking about you on monday and im really hoping it will go well. Keep being amazing

@ebyrne556 hey I'm ok thanks, hope you're good. I wouldn't say it's unpredictable as its been planned but I agree that's I'm not too sure what to expect and all that. Thanks so much for the kind words and comments and replying to me too. You keep being amazing too.

Sorry to hear that @TheNightmare Are there any questions you could ask them to help you decide if the placement would work for you? Remember, it's no problem if it's not the right fit for you - there will be something else out there that plays to your strengths

@amy02 thanks a lot, I didn't really ask anything, I heard the only roles and they weren't suitable so I'm going to look at something else. I have some other things pottentially in the works , nothing definate but hopefully soon it will come.
