Brain felt crazy today (is this a period thing?)

My head felt all over the place today, messy and scrambled and foggy. It's been even harder to cross things off my time do list than usual, I just couldn't move... I mean I could but I couldn't, like my head was too loud, you know what I mean?*
(Also my eyes feel so dry and tired and looking at screens for too long makes it way worse. Which is awkward when our whole lives are on screens these days!)
Weirdly the only time I felt not-messy was when I was making my dinner... like there was something about cooking, even when it got a bit stressful. Should I start doing brownies every time I get anxious or something?)
*am wondering if it's anything to do with hormones and my period being due. Anyone here relate?

I'm sorry to hear your head has been feeling all over the place. That sounds really difficult to deal with and I can imagine how this could impact day-to-day living. Hugs
I hear you about how your eyes feel dry and tired from looking at screens too long! It's so difficult to tackle this when we spend so much of our time looking at screens (just like you said!). I try take regular breaks and go on a walk or do some colouring. I must admit though sometimes when I'm colouring I have something on the telly in the background so I can't win
This is an interesting point. I wonder if you feel you have a sense of control when you're making your dinner. We all find a bit of peace and serenity in different things - maybe this is yours! Making brownies every time you get anxious sounds like a pretty good step for you. You can kinda do your own experiment and see if it helps at all! You can even branch out to different recipes. Do let us know how you get on with this - I really hope it does help!
You could be onto something here. Menstrual cycles and hormones can really have an affect on how we feel. I know some people track their cycle and have found patterns in their mood based on where they are in their cycle. Have you given much thought to this?
