I hear you’re feeling like you don’t want to reach out for support anymore. Is there something in particular that’s led to this decision? We’re here to hear you out
It sounds like things have been pretty shoddy for a while now, and maybe you’re starting to feel like things won’t ever get better so you're wondering what the point is - does that feel right? Correct me if i'm way off
It's lovely that you're wanting to support others; that can feel healing for a lot of people. It feels worth reminding you though that you can't pour from an empty cup. Taking care of yourself is sooo important, not just for you but so you can be there for others too. Otherwise, I imagine burnout could creep up pretty quickly and nobody likes that
You deserve the same support and kindness you give to everyone else. Let me know how you’re doing, if you feel up to it. I'm going to be online for a short while now
Do you think the therapy session went a little deep a little too fast? I'm wondering if you'd feel able to tell your therapist this, that you feel like it might make things worse because you're digging up the past? I know that's part of therapy but therapy is also about taking things slow and unpacking at a pace that feels comfortable for you - this doesn't have to be the end of your support journey. It's your journey and it's okay for you to dictate what you need and don't need right now.
But, you know, i'd like to offer the notion that "getting better" doesn't have to mean a full 180 where everything is suddenly sweet as and life is totally manageable. Maybe, it's about finding those little moments of joy in between. I know that the good days won't ever magically fix the bad ones, but they can give you something to hold onto. And in between the good and the bad, you've got those 'meh' days too, where cruising through is totally fine.
It's okay to feel a stink on the rough days. Let yourself feel them and let yourself get through them in a way that works for you. Even though you’re over reaching out right now, I hope you can remember that support is always there if you ever feel like you need it... because you deserve it. No one should have to get through their bad days alone. The important thing is that we have your back through it ❤️
At the end of the day, the bad days will still roll around, but so will the good ones. And I reckon those good days, even the little ones, can make the grind worth it. You’ve got so much to give - not just to others, but to yourself too. You’ve got this. Kia kaha 💛
ps. you went for a surf!!! heck yea Hope the wrist is okay. Don't forget to see a professional if it's still sore
