Really pisses me off

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I was filling out a questionnaire last night and got to the "Where are you in the country?" section. The options to pick from were every single county in England or Scotland (as a whole), N. Ireland (As a whole) and Wales (as a whole).

Why do they do that? Can they not split Scotland up? Do they not know that Scotland also has counties? Just seems a bit insensitive to brand all Scots under the same banner. I would have thought for marketing purposes it would make more sense to split each country up.

Anyway I put the questionnaire in the bin out of protest.

/Rant over.

Was it counties that were listed under England (e.g. Lancashire, Merseyside etc) or was it regions (e.g. North-West, East Anglia etc)?

If it was counties, then Scotland should have been split up too. If it was regions then no, Scotland is all one region :)

    Scotland has counties?!

Never knew that. Then again i was under the impression that the top half of Scotland was uninhabitable.

I think you should mention this to the scottish parliament Lacy. Put in your suggestions for alternative names for them. im sure theyd change the names since its you.

Another thing that pisses me off is the way stupid English weather forecasters pronounce Moray. It's pronounced Murray, not Mo-Ray. Fuckwits should be shot

Anyway, Wales is way worse than us for stupid name.

Those are wee counties you've got in Bonny Scotland. Couldnae you put all the wee ones like North, South and East Ayrshire together. That would be canny.

(How's my Scottish? I think I've mixed 3 or 4 different accents in)

I`ve got a feeling that this is probably purely a question of demographics, what with the population of Scotland, N. Ireland and Wales combined being less than one tenth that of the entire U.K. It`s probably just not something they need to know rather than any kind of pro-English sentiment.
