Hey guys quick question for those with ADHD ADD things like this. Does 8D music actually work. I’ve just come across it on ticktock and looked up songs. My little brother is on spectrum and struggles with concentration and attention span but is on the verge of being kicked out of school because the teachers refuse to help him as they don’t care about his diagnosis so want to show mam this but can someone with them let me know if it’s real as it seems quite ligit

Thank you

Hey @Lucy_21 , I love this question - thanks so much for your post. It's so lovely that you're wanting to do all you can to help your brother. He's lucky to have a sibling like you <3 and I'm sorry the teachers are being so dismissive with him. That's horrible, and he deserves all the support he needs to feel happy at school.

I must admit, I've heard about 8D mkusic through Instagram Reels too, but am not too sure about the scientific basis for how helpful it can be. I did a little bit of research and found these resources that might help you:

The Brain Charity say, "Music can be used in the same way as ‘fidget spinners’ to help individuals with ADHD to occupy parts of the brain. This allows their executive functioning to be able to focus on the task they want to complete" - so that sounds positive!!

Maybe you could see if your little brother wanted to try listening to 8D music at home first, just to test the waters and see how it makes him feel? Maybe he could start introducing it while doing homework, and then talk to his teachers about it if it does feel like it's making a difference. What do you think?

    Keep us posted, @Lucy_21 !
