Cold-Weather Joy!

Hiiiii friends! I know the weather has been a bit gloomy lately, and it's easy to get down when the days get shorter and colder (I know I've certainly found the darker days quite tricky this week!). But today, I've been thinking about all the little things that have brought me joy, and I thought it would be fun to share them with you!

This thread is dedicated to all the things that make us smile this autumn and winter. Whether it's a cozy cup of tea, a beautiful sunset (don't forget the sunset thread ), a good book, or a kind act from a stranger, let's share our moments of happiness and brighten each other's day.

I'll start things off with a few of my own joys this week:

New tea: I bought a new autumn tea this week called Banana Bread Chai! It is so yummy and I have it with honey and oat milk every evening before bed. There's something so nice about a cup of tea before bed

TV shows: I've been binge watching The Bold Type this week and loving it! It's kind of like Emily in Paris but set in New York! There are 5 seasons so it should keep me busy for a while

THE MIX CHRONICLES! : If you haven't read it already @Chloe234 and @Rose113 did such an amazing job at writing this story about our Mix community. It's so funny and made my day! Of course I had to try and have a bit of fun for Halloween ahah so I went out as a ghost and had so much fun with it I even got a few sweets ahah

Releasing the Chronicles with Rivvy:
Me and @Rose113 spent agessss doing it heheh and it's been so so fun ahahah we had to leave the room for another part! Last night was soo much fun finalising it all and joking about together as well and I couldn't have had a better time

Doing some cooking again!

For a while I've just not had the energy at all to cook and it's one thing that I'd like to think I'm fairly good at and I enjoy but I managed to make some lasagne and I'm taking that as a win!

Surfing and the beach!!

Been out of action with surfing for a while but managed to go for a surf again on Saturday and it was just so so freeing! And was such an amazing day and then on Sunday I got to hang out with My amazing friend and there was finally sun so we ended up running into the sea fully clothed Oh and I got more ducks!!!

Getting to speak to my friend A who has literally raised me through a screen the past 3 years 🥹 I wouldn’t be where I am today without her

I love this thread so much actually and omg having the mix chronicles as a comic book would be very amazing or even a web comic as well (Im more than happy to contribute to this as well if you need someone to illustrate a comic ). Anyways I thought I would share some of my joys for this week/I guess last month's joys as well (I wonder if that counts lol).

Having brunch with my friends
Recently me and a good friend of mine have been doing regular brunchs in this local resteraunt in my town. We has been having lots more people attending the brunch group too which is amazing. Im part of a neurodiversity group on Facebook and we reguarly meet up to have brunch and discuss all things neurodiverse and things. I have met a lot of new people which has helped to improve my conversational skills.

Going to my proper first big comic con with friends

So in October, a few of my friends from the local neurodiversity hub all asked me if I wanted to go to comic con with them. It was my proper first big convention as I have only been to very small conventions run by friends on a very low budget. But I had the time of my life there!.

I think thats it really for me as I haven't done a lot to be fair

I don't know about you guys but it's been a loooooong old week for me!

I loved seeing your posts last week, they really made me smile- it's so nice to hear what has made you happy in your weeks

My main joy this week was seeing the fireworks! Look how cool they are!




I'm off to Disneyland next week so can't wait to show you photos because it's gonna be a whole lotta joy!

@ella wow those fireworks are stunning and what a beautiful view to watch them too!. Aww nice I know a lot of people going to Disneyland this month and I bet you can't wait to go . I've never been to Disney and I really want go one day.

@Rose113 and @Chloe234 , I LOVE your Mix Chronicals and am fully behind the comic project for this. That would be the best thing ever! It sounds like you two had a hilarious time making it together too which makes me feel so happy! @Rose113 , Barney is so cute!

@Amy22 your brunch club sounds so lovely, and omg tell us more about comic con - how was it? Did you dress up at all to go? I'd love to hear

My Cold-Weather Joy this past week was standing and looking out across the sea one cold, early morning. The air was SO STILL and it felt really peaceful:



Also, my friends and I went to the cutest pottery-painting cafe and I made this little bowl / mug. I had so much fun:



And it's something small, but I walked past this tree that had a plant growing over it, and I just thought the colours were so PRETTY!

Omg the brunch club is so fun and lovely because I get to meet lots of different and new people so it helps with my communication skills. Omg comic con was amazing. So it was my first proper big one because I only attended very very small conventions run by friends I know and their families too. But this was amazing. The whole plan was to cosplay but as the date drew nearer and my life got busy I was unable to get the costume and cosplay I wanted to do. However, I still wore my favourite t-shirt and I got to have some fun with my friends and I may have spent a bit too much there .
