Sooo I went to my doctors, I’ve been put on the pill and also been prescribed pain meds, I have something called Dysmenorrhea

Hi @Rose113 well done you for going to the appointment, I know it can be a little difficult to open up about certain topics so you should be so proud of yourself How are you feeling now you have been given a diagnosis? Hopefully the meds will help and you can feel a bit more yourself again - dealing with that pain must be so awful. Sending hugs

@amy02 honestly I’m so glad I went, I feel pretty good about it tbf, I think after years of this pain im just so so relieved that I have a solution and a doctor has taken me seriously in finding a solution. She said that past issues will have been most likely caused by the dysmenorrhea so thinks like my fainting and bad headaches but she said because the period stuff has just suddenly popped up that it all the symptoms hadn’t of been linked by the doctors so ngl im kinda glad my period started playing up just because I have the solution if that makes sense

That makes so much sense @Rose113 it's great that you have some direction now and can understand why your body has been feeling this way. Hopefully this is the first step in finding a solution that works for you

Thank you @amy02 i have to go back in a month where they want to do my blood pressure again before they prescribe more of the pill

i am so happy you got a reason for your discomfort and pain bc ik how much this is causing you issues i hope the things the dr have given you help bc you deserve a life of happiness and pain free hugs 🫂

I’m scared, I start my meds today and it’s just kinda filling me with a lot of scary thoughts

@Rose113 Im glad that you were able to get the diagnosis you needed to better understand the pain that you were in. Sometimes having that diagnosis can ease the anxiety of wondering what we are going through and it can mean the difference of knowing ourselves more as well as our bodies. It sounds like a difficult time though for you as well because I know that being in pain all the time isn't fun. Im glad though you were able to be taken seriously by a doctor because there is nothing worse than when you ask for help but they dont offer the right amount of support. However, it sounds like hopefully the medication they have prescribed you on will hopefully help to ease the pain.
