How to feel confident?

I can often feel unhappy about myself because I have just not done well in life. I failed academically with school exams. Even though I was worried about my future when I was younger, I thought it would all have fallen into place by now. I'm not happy with my current situation, just work searching as I'm not working yet and haven't had much luck finding anything. I don't have a girlfriend, I'm still a virgin, and I just have not been successful. I really don’t know what I’m good at and feel lost when trying to figure it out. Most of my friends and other people are doing better than me, got jobs. Some are younger than me and doing better. I’m just here, still searching for work, and I feel like I’m struggling to do something that a lot of people seem to have no problem with. I have been feeling behind for a very long time, especially since finishing college and things not falling into place. I just want to feel like I’m on the same page as everyone else at least, if not getting ahead and doing impressive things. I do have goals I would like to achieve, but I feel like I will never achieve them. I have been feeling down about this situation for a while. I have people reminding me of things too.

I can hear the disappointment you have about yourself @TheNightmare, especially when you compare yourself to others.

We see your strengths and how far you have come - as well as how far you continue to go in self progress!

You have mentioned having goals. Would you like to share these with us? I hear working and relationships are important to you but if you would like to explore the more specifics we are here.

People are mentioning things, what are they mentioning? Your thoughts and feelings are valid and so is your self progress. We are proud of you <3

@Laura_tigger82 thanks for replying and everything you said here, I appreciate every single reply as long as they are nice ones which they always are and even hugs.

For goals I have a thread specifically talking about them here https://community.themix.org.uk/discussion/3604698/my-goals#latest

For people mentioning things they might mention I don't have a job which is true but Im trying hard like I don't need to be reminded it can just put me more down, people might act like Im not trying like might even say that or they might doubt me about etc. I really do appreciate you're proud of me, it really means a lot, sometimes if I feel alone I just think about the support I have here, I genuinely appreciate everything. I know I can be extremely repetitive but I just appreciate I still get replies on my threads considering that. Thanks so much.

Just jumping in to say we're here for you @TheNightmare <3
I can understand how people mentioning you not having a job can sometimes make you feel worse - I myself have found it a bit pressurising and unhelpful when people offer this reminder! Again, all of us here are so proud of you and know how hard you are trying to find something.

    We believe in you :3
