Heartstopper S3 - let's discuss! 🍂🌈

ellaella Community Manager Posts: 275 The Mix Regular
I would be lying if I said I didn't watch Heartstopper S3 all in one night!!!

I know some of you watch Heartstopper too, so I thought we could make a space where we discuss our favourite moments and things about the series!

For me, I love how in this season, the importance of community is clear, whether it’s through biological or chosen family. Some of the heavier topics are resolved when a character leans on those around them which was really nice to see. For the series in general, I think the discussion around identity is something really special and not anything like I've seen on TV before!

I'd love to hear some of your thoughts! 🍂🌈

I love the lgbtq+ representation though and how they didn't only use one sexuality. Genuinely debating watching the whole of heartstopper again as I think it's a new comfort series now ahaaa

I've never actually watched Heartstopper because I haven't got Netflix yet. However, I got the first graphic novel so I might be reading the graphic novels instead. I wish I could comment on the s3 but I haven't seen it yet but I bet the show is amazing. I have got quite a few of Alice Oesman's other books like Loveless and Solitaire as well <3. Really reccomend those books as they got some got aro/ace rep in them <3.

I also watched all of season three in like the space of a day - and i enjoyed it.

i think i've said it before on another thread but i'll say it again - the way that show handles things like representation, mental health and other heavy topics that affect young people is done soooo well in my opinion. the way it promotes things like chosen family, healthy communication in friendships / relationships is honestly refreshing to see.

hopefully they make a Season 4 because its such a good show and i don't want it to end :3

I'm so glad you loved Heartstopper as much as I did! It's honestly groundbreaking in how it portrays LGBTQ+ relationships and experiences for young people. I'm a big fan of how they included a variety of sexualities and genders which shows such an accurate depiction of sexuality today!

I completely agree about the start of Season 3 being a bit emotional. I cried a few times, too! And the soundtrack was so gooodddd. My TikTok feed has been flooded with Heartstopper content as well which makes me want to watch it all over again!

I was actually thinking about hosting a Heartstopper watch party! Would you guys be interested in joining?

Heartstopper is a show I need to watch actually because I love a show which has positive rep of lgbtq people in general. I've often watched shows where the characters ate heavily stereotyped and in this they aren't which is so positive to see. I would be up for a watch party even though I haven't watched s1 yet 🤯. The only concern for me is the platform as I haven't got netflix so I may not be able to take part in the watch along unless it was on some streaming platform whether that be discord or something else maybe.
