Finishing off on The Mix

I realized early on that I would have to leave this community when I turn 26, I just don’t know what I’ll do when I have to finish off here. Before I joined, I struggled a lot with keeping everything bottled up, and it felt like there was no outlet for how I was feeling. Over the past few months, being part of the community has given me a place where I can vent and express what’s on my mind without feeling judged. I’ve also been able to share my interests here, which has helped me feel less alone overall. I’ve used other communities before, but they’ve been mostly negative, with restrictions on how often you can post or how repetative your thoughts are. Places that are truely non-judgmental are limited these days, but here, it’s different. It’s a freindly, supportive space where I can share whenever I need to, without fear of being judged. I’ve also learned a few things from being part of this community, like new ways to cope with stress and handle difficult situations. Leaving feels like I’m walking away from a space that really understands and supports me. I’d rather not share my age, but it’s still quite a bit of time until I finish off here on and I'm hoping I'll be in a totally different position and all my struggles would have mostly or fully gone by then but I'm still going to find it hard leaving. Does anyone have any advice?

Just popping in to point you here @TheNightmare https://community.themix.org.uk/discussion/3598388/what-if-im-over-25/p2

You’re not kicked out as soon as you turn 26, it’s more of a gradual transition.

@independent_ is totally correct as usual ^

Just a general note that I moved this over to Health & Wellbeing. Truthfully I'm not sure where these posts should go, but H&WB feels more suitable than Help Desk for some reason. 🤔

I'm a bit swept up in other things right now which is why this reply is just a quick one, but I want to say @TheNightmare that genuinely, the growth we've seen in you here is remarkable and I'm really glad you're taking so much from this community. I'll let our other members chip in with any advice and I might circle back to this when I get another moment!

I wasn't sure which place to put it and waa going to say change it if it's not in the right category bit didnt get round to it so thanks for doing it.

Thanks a lot, I think a lot of growth has come from here like any feedback it's helped not just for using the community but for real life to also people's suggestions and stuff etc has helped me to and probably other stuff has helped with growing as a person. I wouldn't be noticing any growth if it wasn't for here either, I would just be focusing on the negatives. I think all this has changed my mindset in life to just to make improvements which you need. Thanks so much I really appreciate it genuinely.

Hi @TheNightmare I'd just like to echo what the others have said but I have personally seen how much you have grown on this platform and how helpful your advice and support has been for other members- and that's what the Mix is all about!

I can understand your concerns about leaving the safety net of the Mix but there are definitely some other platforms that are suitable for over 25s that you might be interested in. One option I know has good recommendations is https://sidebyside.mind.org.uk/ which is a platform run by Mind. You still have time to browse around for which support network seems best for you.

    Hope this helps <3
